On January 28th Traci Quinones, Ms. American Renaissance 2011 had the privilege of judging the Marble Falls Today’s Girl Pageant an official preliminary to the National Today’s Girl Pageant. Young ladies between the ages of 1 month - 18 years of age competed in interview, casual wear, talent, party dress and facial beauty for the coveted crown. All the contestants did an outstanding job!

The President’s Volunteer AWARD is issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, a group created by President Bush to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making to our Nation. Chaired by two-time Super Bowl Champion Darrell Green, with former U.S. Senators Bob Dole and John Glenn as honorary co-chairs, the Council comprises leaders in government, media, entertainment, business, education, nonprofits and volunteer service organizations, and community volunteering. The recipients of the PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD are role models for all Americans. Each volunteer hour contributed makes a difference in improving the quality of life for others, and I encourage everyone to contribute to our community by volunteering. Volunteers bring us closer together as families, as communities and as a Nation, through their commitment.
This year 6 American Renaissance Queens have the honor of receiving this award. Miss American Renaissance-Carlie Elledge, Ms. Classic American Renaissance-Trisha Downey, and Ms. Washington American-Deborha Petruzzi all received the Bronze Award. American Renaissance Princess Queen-McKenzie Elledge, Miss Teen American Renaissance-Haley Downey and Ms. Royal American Renaissance Lifetime Queen-Linda Elledge all received the Gold Award.

Trisha and Haley show off some of the toy donations they collected for "Give a Toy Get a Smile" foundation for orphaned and other needy children in the Mexican Yucatan region. WARREN TWP. – The Jr. Pee Wee cheerleading squad of the Watchung Hills Pop Warner (WHPW) captured second place among 17 teams on Monday, Dec. 5, at the National Cheer Championships in Orlando, Fla.The age group for Jr. Pee Wee cheerleading is 8 to 10 years old. The WHPW Midget cheerleading squad competed on Friday, Dec. 9, in Orlando at the same championship in its age-group. The age group for Midgets is 11 to 14 years old. On hand to cheer on all the competitors was Mrs. American Renaissance Dawn LaCosta, of Warren who made numerous appearances at the ESPN Zone during the competition as well as at Disney World with some of the teams and supporters. A limited number of diners will enjoy a special night out Nov. 15, when guest chef Teddy DeVico takes over the kitchen from Executive Chef Mark Farro at Uproot Restaurant in a fund raising event for Austism Speaks.
Teddy, a student at Watchung Hills Regional, will prepare the night's menu, which will feature Taro root-encrusted salmon, with pickled shitake mushrooms and Sunchoke puree, and a roasted duck breast, with seared Brussels sprouts, pears and Brussels salad.
The meal starts with roasted and raw heirloom beets, served with orange, goat cheese and crispy parsnips, and will be capped with a caramelized white chocolate cake, with bitter sweet chocolate crumbs and coconut ice-cream.All food for the night has been donated by the restaurant's suppliers and local farms.
A special thank you to our local queens Brielle and Dawn LaCosta. Brielle is an avid spokeswoman for Autism Speaks as well as works professionally with families with autistic children and adults. Inspired by her daughters charitable work, Dawn LaCosta entered pageantry early in 2011 and was our Mrs. New Jersey American Renaissance until capturing the National Title in Las Vegas this past June. We were honored to have both women available to us for this delectable dinner and fund raising event.

Hosted by America’s Next Top Model All-Star, Bianca Golden and Performance by Platinum Recording Artist Mike Posner at Resorts Hotel and Casino Atlantic City, NJ.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ —The recently concluded Supermodels Unlimited Magazine’s BoardWalk Bash in Atlantic City, New Jersey held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 was a successful event with over 400 guests in attendance. Hosted by America’s Next Top Model All-Star, Bianca Golden, the event took place at Resorts Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The evening featured a couture eveningwear “Bling it On” Fashion Show by Diane and Company Boutique of Freehold, NJ. The Oxygen Network was on site to film the fashion show for Season 2 of “Jersey Couture”. Platinum recording artist, Mike Posner also performed and engaged the crowd with his show stopping hit singles including “Cooler than You” and “Bow Chicka Wow Wow”.
Supermodels Unlimited Magazine’s BoardWalk Bash was held to benefit the Toys for Tots Foundation. The United States Army was in attendance to collect toys in exchange for entry into the event. Almost 500 toys were collected throughout the evening and a retired veteran also saluted the crowd.
Many pageant queens were present including National title holder, Dawn LaCosta, Mrs. New Jersey Renaissance and her daughter Brielle LaCosta, Miss New Jersey Galaxy who was also featured in the fashion show.

First on the list was a VIP invitation to the Hello Kitty Sephora Cosmetic Launch Party in Hollywood with special Sanrio designer Ms. Yuko Yamaguchi. The Queens were given the star treatment with a make application by "artist to the stars" Victorio and showered with gifts from the new Hello Kitty Cosmetic line. Best of all was meeting Hello Kitty herself. Proceeds from the night benefited the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Ms Civic/Ms Woman American Renaissance 2011 - Ani Hudgens and her husband Chris volunteered once again in the Neighbor 2 Neighbor Christmas Program which provided 425 needy families with Christmas trees and all the trimmings this year. Chris and Ani personally visited 25 families in the Tampa Bay area spreading holiday wishes and delivering their fresh Christmas Tree, in addition to a bible, coloring books, christmas toy vouchers, and grocery gift cards. It was a busy day but one filled of blessings for all who participated!

"I KNOW I CAN" was the thought of the day as Ani Hudgens - Ms Civic/Ms Woman American Renaissance 2011 prepared to participate in the Women's Running Magazine 5K (3.1 mile) race on Sunday - November 20th, 2011 benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In November 2009 Ani participated in the innagural WRM Half Marathon and had plans to do so again in 2010 - however after suffering debilitating injuries in an auto accident earlier that year she faced the possibility of never being able to race again. As a determined 4 yr leukemia survivor and remembering "one step at a time" Ani successfully walked the 5K race with her husband Chris until they successfully crossed the finish line together... once again proving Cancer Picked The Wrong Diva!

As a Survivor of leukemia, Volunteer & Advocate for LLS this ia a cause that is very near and dear to Ani and her family. They were a part of helping the Suncoast Chapter of LLS raise over $169,000 for lifesaving blood cancer research!

Every year Tampa Metro Civitan starts their morning with a traditional early morning breakfast meeting, then they break off into delivery teams and hit the road throughout Tampa Bay!

October 29th - BAKAS EQUESTRIAN CENTER - Horses For Handicapped
Ms. Civic/Ms Woman American Renaissance 2011 - Ani Hudgens and her family participated in the 2011 BAKAS EQUESTRIAN CENTER Halloween Party on October 29th to continue to raise funds and a greater awareness about the BAKAS Equestrian Center - Horses For Handicapped program. The Bakas Center helps hundreds of handicapped children every year ride horses. Children with physical, mental, emotional handicaps learn how to ride - many that otherwise would never get a chance to ride. Ani has been a horse enthusiast all her life an since her auto accident in 2010 has not been able to ride, as a BAKAS volunteer, she hopes with time and proper therapy to get back in the saddle again. On October 29th the kids painted pumkins, played games, ran through the haunted barn, rode horses, had a costume contest, hay rides, cake walk and wore their parents out... not to mention emptied their pockets too... it was awesome, for everyone... especially BAKAS!

ANGELS UNAWARE - OCTOBER 24TH TRUNK OR TREAT & HALLOWEEN PARTY - Ani Hudgens - Ms Civic/ Ms Woman American Renaissance 2011 was joined by her husband Chris aka "Mr Penguin" and friends from Tampa Metro Civitan for the annual Angels Unaware Trunk or Treat and Halloween Party at two assisted living facilities for teens and adults who are severly mentally and physically handicapped. Everyone had a SPOOKTACULAR time, especially with Ani & Chris dressed as Mr & Mrs Penguin and all smiles as they passed out candy to all the residents and children!

Ms. Woman/Ms. Civic American Renaissance 2011-Ani Hudgens recently had the opportunity to help out and volunteer at the awesome new My Little Pony Spa in The Castle of Miracles located at Give Kids The World resort in Kissimmee, FL. Make a Wish families get to come in and have manicures and get spray on "sparkly" tattoos. It was loads of fun, especially meeting a very special family visiting GKTW all the way from Ireland. When their eldest daughter Marissa is a Make a Wish child and tried my crown on her face just lit up! Congrats to Miss American Renaissance 2012-Carlie Elledge.The University of Washington rowing program has done plenty to prove themselves on the water this season but the Huskies have also shown they're successful in the classroom as well. Twenty-seven Husky oarsmen and oarswomen were named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team, giving Washington a substantial level of representation among the programs in the conference.Veronica Tamsitt led the way on the women's team with a 3.7 GPA in oceanography & mathematics, meriting a first-team nomination. The other Husky oarswoman to receive a first-team nod was Carlie Elledge, 3.6 GPA, a sophomore from Lake Stevens, Wash., who is majoring in history. Elledge rowed all season in UW's varsity four, which reached the grand final of the NCAA Championships. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete needed to demonstrate a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a prominent member of the crew program (rowing in the varsity eight, second varsity eight or varsity four.
